Under the patronage of the Local Authority in Hadramout Governorate, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and implemented by Youth Without Borders for Development in partnership with Hadramout University, the Youth Services Center – Hadramout launched the Girls’ Chess Championship in Mukalla on Wednesday, targeting 50 participants. The championship was part of a package of sports activities aimed at expanding the game’s reach, enhancing girls’ participation, and promoting a culture of peace within the local community.

The championship concluded yesterday, Thursday, in an outstanding sporting atmosphere marked by enthusiasm and engagement. Participants demonstrated a high level of performance, fair competition, and strong sportsmanship throughout the event.

This championship comes as part of the Youth Services Center – Hadramout activities, implemented in coordination with the Youth and Sports Office in the Hadramout Coast, within ongoing efforts to support youth and sports initiatives and empower girls to actively participate across various fields.
